Cavalier brother and longtime resident of Rosemont, passed away on December 3, 2019. Frank marched with the Chicago Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps in the 1950s and reconnected with the corps as a volunteer in the early 1980s. He initiated the relationship between The Cavaliers and the Village of Rosemont, helping to ensure the organizations longtime success. He remained active with the corps for decades and was a member of the Board of Directors.

Francis “Frank” Speciale, 77, a longtime resident of Rosemont, passed away on December 3, 2019. Frank was born in Chicago, IL on March 21, 1942 to Frank A. and Esther (nee Giometti) Speciale. After high school, he served in the US Air Force. Frank spent 20 years working for the Rosemont Public Safety Department as a paramedic, fireman and finally a police officer. After retirement, he pursued his passion for sales. He spent his weekends at Wolff’s Flea Market, his summer’s in Shipshewana, IN and his winter’s in Yuma, AZ.

Frank was married to his loving and devoted wife Joy (nee Gallet) for nearly 50 years. Together they enjoyed traveling around the country and spending time their four daughters and 8 grandchildren. Frank spent the last days of his life surrounded by his family.
Frank is survived by his wife Joy; his daughters, Melissa (Eric) Olson, Stacie (Bruce) Furlano, Renee (Michael) Tompkins and Amy (Brad) Bowers; his seven grandsons, Ian, Andrew, Michael, Anthony, Dominic, Daniel and Zachary; his lone granddaughter, Alexandra; his brothers, Pat (Nancy) and Robert (Raquel) and many nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog M.A.R.S.
Visitation Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 3-9pm at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Road, Park Ridge. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Our Lady of Hope Church, 9711 W Devon Ave, Rosemont. There will be visitation at church from 9:30 until the start of mass. Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery, 700 North River Road, Des Plaines.
