75th Anniversary Alumni Corps

Alumni Corps Costs/Dues

Costs for the alumni corps is $125.00

Includes:
Uniform jersey and hat (bring your own black pants/socks/shoes)
Access to the alumni deck at the stadium press box during the show (regularly a $10 donation to the DWW Scholarship Fund)
Food/drinks at rehearsals (there are no close food venues near the University)
*This cost is only for participation in the alumni corps events – not any of the other events of the weekend.

Payment deadline is May 1, 2023!

Performances

Perform with the corps at the Lisle show on Sunday 7/2/23
March with the corps in a parade on Tuesday 7/4/23

Instruments

Primarily “bring your own horn” but we are working on availability and sourcing of larger instruments and percussion but if you have a horn bring it.  Guard equipment TBD.

Music

Music and rights are being finalized but the plan is Tiger Rag (standstill and parade), Rainbow, and Sing Sing Sing (the Corps is using this as an encore this summer).  More details on this very soon.

Rough Schedule

Rehearsal is currently planned at Benedictine University in Lisle

Friday 6/30/23 rehearse morning and afternoon.

Saturday 7/1/23 rehearse morning and afternoon (there will be time to go home/hotel to get ready for the Gala in the evening)

Sunday 7/2/23 rehearse for couple of hours in preparation for the show (with Corps); perform at the show

Monday 7/3/23 Free day

Tuesday 7/4/23 march with corps in a parade

Detailed itineraries will be made available as soon as possible. Stay tuned to the MAIN GROUP and FORUMS as well as SECTIONAL GROUPS and FORUMS for additional information and sectional information.

Housing

CAP&E has secured hotel blocks in Rosemont for the Gala (https://cavaliers.org/75th-anniversary-weekend )

Start reaching out to your fellow brothers to see who is interested in sharing rooms/costs.  In addition to the hotel blocks, you may want to consider getting a group together and looking at Airbnb, VRBO, etc.

Cavaliers Arts, Performance & Education, Inc. has secured a limited number of discounted hotel rooms for our celebratory weekend. These are offered on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.

Transportation

For those flying in, make sure you either rent a car or work on buddying up for transportation to get around for the weekend!  It is 21 miles from Rosemont (housing) to Lisle (rehearsal and performance)  We will not have formal transport between Rosemont and Lisle for rehearsal and performance.  We are trying to work on details on some type of transport for the parade on 7/4/23 – stay tuned for details on this.

Additional Information

Costs/Dues for the alumni corps standstill and parade do not include hotel/housing, the Gala event on Saturday evening 7/1/23, or general admission to the Lisle show on Sunday 7/2/23 (you will have access to the upper deck but you have to have a ticket to get into the show. When purchasing a ticket for the show, you will only need to purchase a general admission ticket as you will have access to the upper deck (unless you want a premium reserved ticket).

The 2023 Cavaliers.

Gates Open At 6:00PM

The Cavaliers host Open and World-Class Drum Corps from across the country for a night of friendly competition and pageantry. Following the competition, The Cavaliers will be recognizing this year’s age-out class, and will be performing an encore standstill performance. Don’t miss our landmark 75th anniversary performance!
